The Louisiana Republican, Congressman and friend of president Trump who was shot in June by the left wing lunatic James Hodgkinson has returned to Capitol Hill for the first time since he was nearly killed.
The Congressman received a standing ovation when he arrived on the House Floor with crutches.
Representative Scalise spoke on the House Floor, he stated the following:
“You have no idea how great this feels to be back at work in the people’s house. As you can imagine these last three and a half months have been pretty challenging times for me and my family… but if you look at the outpouring of love, of warmth, of prayer, my gosh Jennifer and I have been overwhelmed with all of that outpouring and it’s given us the strength to get through all of this and to get to this point today… and it starts with god.”
Congressman stated “When I was laying out on that ball field, the first thing I did once I was down and I couldn’t move anymore, is I just started to pray.”
Congressman Steve Scalise thanked the capitol police who saved his life.
Congressman Scalise did an interview with Norah O’Donnell on Wednesday on”60 Minutes.” Scalise stated the following:
“The hip and pelvis had serious damage where the bullet went through and, you know, did some damage to areas that had to be shored up with steel plates. And then they did a phenomenal job of rebuilding – you know, kind of the, rebuilding Humpty Dumpty. I mean, there were, there was a lot of damage inside that had to get fixed.”
O’Donnell: “They put you back together again.”
Scalise: “They put me back together again.”
